  • Getting XCode working after an in-place Mojave update is a pain. Thank goodness for StackOverflow and helpful people.
  • There’s a new project for ReasonML/OCaml for creating native desktop apps (think Electron for Reason) called revery. They have a demo project that I built. Lots of potential there. Can’t wait to see what comes of it.
  • The TypeScript team published their roadmap for the first half of 2019. It’s been a while since I’ve evaluated TS. Probably need to look at it again. Seems a lot has changed since v1 and the community support has grown significantly.

  • Nerves is a project for building embedded apps with Elixir. Might need to utilize my Pi for that at some point.
  • Two of my coworkers, Steve and Dan, are going to be speaking at Lonestar ElixirConf this year!
  • Scenic looks really interesting for building embedded GUIs in Elixir. The ElixirConf 2018 video from the author is a great starting point and had lots of great tidbits.

  • Traefik is a great solution for reverse-proxying HTTP(S) traffic, but takes a little work to get set up.
  • Linux administration is a whole new world. There are plenty of great resources online though.
  • Docker compose files are amazing! No more having to remember CLI flags to run a container the same way twice.
  • Also, the Docker docs have a night mode now.
